Nathan Phillips Square Design Competition Plant Architect Inc. Submission

The "big move" is to open up the square for multiple public and individual uses, relocating the Peace Garden to the west side. As well, this team would ring the square with long-lived oak and maple trees, planted in specially engineered soil, to create a stronger urban canopy. A new, permanent stage would be built so that, when not in use, the public could walk through it, up wide staircases to connect to a walkway, not now in use, that encircles the square.
