The President of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, Vivian Manasc, FRAIC is pleased to announce the nominees for the new President's Award in Architectural Journalism to be presented during the OAA/RAIC Conference and Festival to be held in Toronto May 9 -12, 2007.
The nominees are:- Maria Cook, Ottawa Citizen
- Lisa Rochon, Globe and Mail
- Adrian Harewood (host), Linda Russell (Producer), CBC Radio One - All in a Day.
- The team behind for the Mon Toit Saturday section in La Presse.
The new award will be offered annually and will recognize a unique story, article or radio or television piece for its contribution to the wide-spread dissemination of Architectural values and ideas. The winner will be chosen this month by a jury including RAIC President, Vivian Manasc, FRAIC immediate Past President Yves Gosselin, AP/FIRAC and Past President Chris Fillingham PP/FRAIC.
The Royal Architectural Institute of Canada bestows more than 80 honours and awards every year. It is a voluntary national association established in 1907 as the voice for architecture and its practice in Canada. Representing more than 3,500 architects, the RAIC provides the national framework for the development and recognition of architectural excellence.
