Walkers find hidden treasures

Toronto Star

Marta O'Brien is on the front lines of educating the public about the city's fantastic architectural history. We may not be Rome or Athens, but her walks show that the city's distinct areas — think Cabbagetown, Rosedale, even the financial district — can teach us about our cultural history. You just started these walks in June. How have they been going? It's slow getting the word out on something new. But it's really fun because some weeks I'm taking nine or eight people on a tour ... and we can engage so much. I find once a group gets larger ... no one says very much because they're a little shy about taking up the time and they don't want to speak in front of others.
