Site honours architect Lyle

Toronto Star

One Bedford is a 32-storey Toronto condominium that takes a step back and honours history with meticulous care, surrounds it with sophisticated beauty and lines it with sumptuous luxury. This condo is situated across from the Royal Ontario Museum and the building site is famous for the Georgian facade of the John Lyle Design Studio. Lyle (1872-1945) was an architect who helped design Union Station, the Royal Alexandra Theatre, the Dominion Bank at Yonge and Gerrard Sts. and many other buildings in Canada. In recognition of Lyle's work, the developers decided to create a stepped-back, articulated exterior to honour the famous architect's contributions.
