Everyone has heard of Ryerson University, but who has seen the campus? It's down there in the heart of the city, as one former student put it, somewhere behind Sam the Record Man. But as campuses go, this one's invisible, more a disparate collection of buildings than a coherent entity. But if Ryerson's new president gets his way, this will all change. Speaking to the Canadian Club yesterday, Sheldon Levy outlined a vision of an institution that enhances the urban fabric. "We have to take some responsibility for architecture and the city and create the best design," Levy said. "But we need help. We can't do it alone. We need partners, including the city and the private sector."
