At least in the minds of people who never go there, Mississauga is a place where nothing much ever changes. It's all classic North American suburbia: countless identical houses with garages where the front porch should be, super-blocks and cul-de-sacs, shopping plazas surrounded by acres of pavement. But take a closer look at new residential projects on the go in this sprawling municipality just over the western boundary of Toronto -- the traditional heartland of Southern Ontario suburbia -- and you quickly find new things happening.
