NYSE's bell will ring for Stantec Inc.

Rochester Democrat & Chronicle

Stantec Inc., a Canadian architecture and design company that has a major office in Rochester, will showcase its listing on the New York Stock Exchange in a big way Friday. Tony Franceschini, president and chief executive of the Edmonton, Alberta, company, will kick off Friday trading by ringing the NYSE's 9:30 a.m. opening bell, a tradition for newly listed companies. Stantec, which already trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange, will trade on NYSE under the ticker symbol SXC. "When we became part of the stock exchange in Toronto, it really helped our name recognition in Canada, and we're hoping it'll do the same for us in the States," said Mark Lang, vice president and regional leader of Stantec's U.S. Northeast division.
