The intersection of Lansdowne Avenue and Dupont Street has long been one of the most rundown and beat-up places on Toronto's west side. I should know. I've lived there for the past 15 years. But like many another shabby spot in Toronto, the Lansdowne-Dupont crossroads is looking at a better future because of the current surge in the residential real estate market. One piece of hopeful news from here: the new Chelsea Lofts condominium building, which had its hoardings torn down a couple of weeks ago and is now being readied for occupancy in mid-August.
