What public space do you remember most vividly? Does it belong to Canada or somewhere far away? Were you moved enough by the space -- a plaza, a promenade, a narrow street, a sprawling, bucolic park, an earthwork, a reinvention of a historic site -- to feel something visceral like commitment or personal attachment? Have you ever fallen in love with a public space? I'm interested to know because sometimes I think we're being brainwashed into believing that public space is that tiny, drive-by gap you can almost catch between the high-rise condominiums crammed along the Toronto waterfront. Or that we've permanently linked the idea of public space with long, tedious public consultations. So, I wanted to check whether or not you still care about public space.
