Architect's firm vision helped shape Vancouver

The Globe and Mail

There are few places in Greater Vancouver that you can go without noticing Arthur Erickson. His architectural fingerprints have been left all over the place, from Robson Square to the Museum of Anthropology at the University of British Columbia. When The Globe and Mail's panel charged with picking the 12 greatest British Columbians of all time came to discuss Mr. Erickson's place in the history of this province, there wasn't much debate. He had to be included. While Mr. Erickson's buildings dot the globe, from the Canadian embassy in Washington to a cultural centre in Tanjing, China, nowhere has his presence been felt more than in his hometown of Vancouver.
