There were plenty of bouquets - and only a few brickbats - when the two 27-storey towers of a new downtown development were unveiled to the public Wednesday night. About 100 people from throughout the municipality turned up at a public information meeting to see what United Gulf Developments has in store for the old Tex-Park site at the corner of Granville and Sackville streets. The $150-million design by Toronto architect Siamak Hariri features plenty of glass with a bit of copper and stone, and a literal twist: the two structures curve outward to the harbour like slight sails, instead of straight ahead.
