Brigitte Shim

Toronto Star

Toronto architect Brigitte Shim plans to spend 2005 much the way she did 2004, in the relentless pursuit of excellence. With her husband and partner, Howard Sutcliffe, she will turn down more projects than most architects are offered. But the ones she chooses are those the pair agree provide an opportunity to do something significant. Otherwise, what's the point? Though the two have their choice of work, they have opted to remain small — their firm has six on staff including Shim and Sutcliffe — and in control.
