In late November, real estate tycoon Donald J. Trump won permission from the Ontario Municipal Board to boost the height of his first residential skyscraper in Toronto -- to be known as Trump International Hotel & Tower -- from 68 to 70 storeys. An extension of just two storeys is, of course, a very small change in a project destined to stand some 320 metres tall. But it does suggest that the design of Toronto's ultra-deluxe Trump Tower is not absolutely finished, hence a few improvements are possible. While architect Eberhard Zeidler has not solicited my opinions in this matter, I offer them here anyway, free of charge.
