Five appeals filed against AGO redesign
At least five appeals seeking to overturn council's approval of architect Frank Gehry's redesign of the Art Gallery of Ontario had been received by the city clerk's office by late afternoon yesterday. The deadline for such appeals was 11:59 p.m. yesterday; now the office has 15 days to file them with the Ontario Municipal Board. Council approved the $195-million renovation and expansion of the AGO in late October. If the OMB quashes the appeals, the AGO plans to begin construction next September.
