Rising out of the hillside like a pod of five diving whales, the roof of the proposed new speedskating oval at SFU promises to be a lasting legacy long after the 2010 Olympics have ended. That's the hope of Burquitlam MLA Harry Bloy, who released some of the architect's drawings of the site this week. Bloy was putting out the word that SFU put forth a very strong proposal last week to keep the Olympic speedskating oval at the university. "I feel confident it's coming to SFU. We're at the bid book price," Bloy said. "We want the citizens of Burnaby to see the unbelievable design of the facility and that it will come in at $68 million."
