Bleak times for a new human-rights museum
Today, a select jury will decide the winner of an architectural competition to design the new Canadian Museum for Human Rights. It's mostly bravado. The museum's prospects are bleak, because the Paul Martin government has rejected an earlier commitment to fund the project. Why? Is it a simple misunderstanding? Does the epic contest between Jean Chrétien and Mr. Martin haunt us still? Or is the Liberal Party punishing the National Post?
