Welcome to HtO, which will be under construction in October on the waterfront at Maple Leaf Quay. Designed by one of Canada's leading firms of landscape architects, Janet Rosenberg and Associates, the $7.5 million park will occupy four hectares on either side of the quay, just east of Spadina Ave. Despite its relatively small size, HtO, as it's been named, will finally give Torontonians a spot where they can get their feet wet in the downtown waters of Lake Ontario. "The waterfront is pretty junky and fragmented now," notes Rosenberg, who worked on the project with leading Quebec landscape architect Claude Cormier. "And there's never been a place where people can hang out."
