Beautifying Toronto by bits and pieces

The Globe and Mail

With little fanfare, Toronto has begun to talk seriously again about becoming beautiful. For the Toronto Society of Architects (TSA) and the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects (OALA), which launched a series of discussions with two presentations in May and June, the time has come for Canada's boomingest city to stop complaining about its dowdy appearance. It's also time, said planner and guest speaker Joe Berridge at the second of these sessions, to stop waiting for some government agency to hand the city a fabulous fix-up fund. It's not going to happen. We have to take matters into our own hands.
