Residents win struggle to save hotel

Toronto Star

A long-time battle to save Woodbridge's last remaining 19th-century hotel from demolition has paid off for area residents. The Inkerman House will be preserved and restored by developer Rocco Cerone. It's part of a redevelopment to build a 56-unit, six-storey condominium behind and beside the circa 1878 structure on Woodbridge Ave. in the village core. Earlier this week, a rezoning and official plan amendment to allow the condominium's construction was approved by the City of Vaughan. Site plan approval is still required.
