Mister Modern: Architect Hart Massey introduced the city to the Bauhaus movement
In the spring of 1956, as the family of diplomat George Ignatieff was moving into their newly built house at 55 Juliana Rd. in Rockcliffe, a big black car pulled up. It was Gov. Gen. Vincent Massey arriving for a look at the first house designed by his architect son, Hart Massey. "This made a big impression on the kids in the neighbourhood," recalls Andrew Ignatieff, one of the family's two sons.
