Tempest in the atrium leaves AGO scrambling
The angry resignation of philanthropist Joey Tanenbaum from the board of the Art Gallery of Ontario left officials scrambling yesterday to win back his support and reassure other donors. Tanenbaum quit the AGO Friday, calling superstar architect Frank Gehry's $194 million transformation of the gallery a "needless destruction" and "frivolous." In agreement is Barton Myers, the architect who designed the Tanenbaum Sculpture Atrium, which is slated for massive redesign under the Gehry plan
