VAG delays Erickson exhibition to late 2006

Toronto honoured the most famous and influential architect ever born in that city -- 74 year-old Frank Gehry--with the announcement two weeks ago of a $195-million commission to extend the Art Gallery of Ontario. Meanwhile, in Vancouver, the most famous and influential architect ever born in our city--Arthur Erickson--was dis-honoured by the Vancouver Art Gallery by its postponement of a major exhibition and related catalogue on his work, a tribute that had long been planned for an October launch.
