Why 'wiggly metal' wasn't right

The Globe and Mail

Frank Gehry seemed defensive at times at a public presentation Wednesday night for his massive renovation plans for the Art Gallery of Ontario Wednesday evening. Earlier that day, the Toronto museum had granted the first public glimpse of his design, which will enlarge the museum and dramatically open it to outside light, particularly along its northern face, with a transparent visor-like glass and titanium awning. Expectations before the unveiling were high. And now there's a kind of tentative quiet before the reams of comment and criticism likely to come in the next day, months, years.
