Cottage design with a focus on healing

Just before Christmas, I dropped by Altius Design Studio in Parkdale to find out what's keeping the architects in this young office busy. One thing they're up to is a fresh interpretation of that venerable and very Canadian institution, the up-north cottage. Over the past three years, the firm has completed several vacation spots on the rocky coasts and islands of Georgian Bay and Lake Muskoka. Others are being readied for the fresh-air pleasures of the summer of 2004.
