Gehry: `I'm just an architect'

NJ.Com

Celebrated architect Frank Gehry, hailed for his provocative building designs, doesn't waste his breath on would-be clients who want a baby Bilbao. That has been his golden rule since the Gehry-designed Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain, opened to rave reviews in 1997 and made the Canadian-born architect an international star. "When people call and say they want the Bilbao effect, I hang up," Gehry said in a recent phone interview from his Los Angeles office.
