A Great Fall at the CCA

Art Museums Network News

This Fall, the Canadian Centre for Architecture presents Out of the Box: Price Rossi Stirling + Matta-Clark, revealing for the first time recent acquisitions. The CCA will get out of the box literally and figuratively by displaying four archives that have only recently entered its collection. The Museum invites the public to share its own discovery of the Cedric Price, Aldo Rossi, James Stirling and Gordon Matta-Clark archives. In the 1960s and 1970s, these architects and artists put forward wildly diverse ideas, based on very different premises and viewpoints, about the role of the architect and architecture, and especially about the place of architecture as a more or less autonomous discipline with an independent status in society.
