The commercial and cultural core is a special part of downtown -- the true heart of the metropolis and the bricks and mortar expression of our dreams and aspirations as the capital city of a vibrant province. In terms of design, how's it shaping up? Are we realizing our aspirations? The Journal surveyed local architects, designers and developers to identify its strengths and weaknesses and to identify the design issues that will be in the forefront as the entire downtown continues to buzz with development.
