Saudi Embassy to stay empty until 2005

The Ottawa Citizen

A new Saudi Arabian Embassy is unlikely to open before spring 2005, due to construction delays in a period of frosty diplomatic relations between Canada and Saudi Arabia Domenic Meffe, the Canadian architect working on the project, said yesterday the Saudi government has not yet given the go-ahead for the second phase of construction to begin. He estimated this phase would take 18 months to complete, and cost $10 million to $18 million.
