Crowd king in festival centre design
The corner of King and John Sts. isn't the centre of the universe — yet. If Toronto International Film Festival officials get their way, however, it soon will be. Earlier this week they unveiled plans for a complex that will combine the festival's permanent headquarters and a cinema centre with a 46-storey condo tower. If all goes well — and organizers manage to raise the $120 million they need — construction should begin next year.
